Fishing at Lake Hula, Galilee 🌿🇮🇱 (c. 1943)

Fishermen returning with their catch by boat - a glimpse into agricultural and daily life in pre-state Israel, when the wetlands of the Hula Basin still shaped the rhythm of life.

On the box, the words “Tnuva Haifa” appear. The product comes from Tnuva, a company founded in 1926 after leaders of the kibbutz movement decided to establish cooperatives to distribute and export various food products. Initially, Tnuva focused only on supplying fresh drinking milk, but in the 1930s it expanded into a wider range of dairy products.

A rare historical moment from the early 1940s, captured in what was then a thriving natural landscape of fishing, farming, and settlement in northern Israel.
