Yaacov Agam was born in 1928 in Rishon LeZion and studied at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem before continuing his education in Zürich and Paris. He is the founder of the Kinetic Art movement, and is considered to be the most important Jewish artist in history, as the concept of Kinetic art was inspired by the Jewish tradition of "הווה ומתהווה" - "being is becoming."
